“What is Chi Alpha Epsilon?”
Chi
Alpha Epsilon is a national honor society, founded in 1989 at West Chester University
of Pennsylvania. XAE recognizes the academic achievements of
college and university students admitted through various Academic Advancement
Programs. XAE promotes continued high
academic standards, increased communication among members, and honors
excellence achieved by those students.
Networking and career opportunities exist through XAE alumni programs.
At
California State
University Bakersfield, the Beta Upsilon Chapter of
Chi Alpha Epsilon, founded in 2002, serves students involved in the STAAR
Program. This program serves students
needing to overcome class, social, and cultural barriers to higher education,
by providing services and activities to retain and graduate disadvantaged
students from the institution.
